Introductie van de Instagrampagina Writer's Corner

In the Think Tank Literature in Society / Society in Literature, literature students from Radboud University complete their bachelor’s degree by orienting themselves on a current issue in relation to their discipline. In the academic year 2021-2022 seven students worked on a plan to inform a broad audience about Wintertuin’s view of literature and contemporary authorship, resulting in the English Instagram page Writer’s Corner. Writer’s Corner is intended as a place for discussions on the topic of authorship, more specifically the way authorship is changing and expanding. It is no longer limited to just the romanticized idea of the writer as an individualistic genius, it encompasses for example authors who write in different genres or who research collective ways of creating art.
On the Instagram page we have collected research and interviews with a diverse group of contemporary writers to help illustrate that the concept of authorship is changing. We also contacted a group of students Creative Writing from ArtEZ. A number of these students subsequently contributed to the project through interviews or prompts. The contributions of the writers as well as those of the students Creative Writing were very valuable, because they know the contemporary practice of authorship from their own experience.
And now it is up to you, the visitors of Writer’s Corner! Whether you are a writer or a reader, Wintertuin would love to hear your ideas on authorship. The Instagram page offers the possibility of conversations and discussions, so feel free to join in. Our hope is that with your help the Instagram page will grow into a standalone platform with which we can contribute to the views on authorship. In de denktank Literature in Society / Society in Literature ronden Letterenstudenten van de Radboud Universiteit hun bachelor af door zich te oriënteren op een actueel vraagstuk in relatie tot hun vakgebied. In het studiejaar 2021-2022 werkten zeven studenten aan een plan om een breed publiek te bereiken en te informeren over Wintertuins kijk op literatuur en hedendaags auteurschap. Het resultaat is de Engelse Instagrampagina Writer’s Corner. 

Writer’s Corner is bedoeld als een plek voor discussies over het onderwerp auteurschap en in het bijzonder de manier waarop auteurschap verandert en zich uitbreidt. Het is niet langer beperkt tot alleen het geromantiseerde idee van de schrijver als een individualistisch genie, het omvat onder meer auteurs die in verschillende genres schrijven of die collectieve manieren om kunst te creëren onderzoeken.
Op de Instagrampagina hebben we onderzoek en interviews met een diverse groep hedendaagse schrijvers verzameld om te illustreren dat er een verandering gaande is rondom het concept van auteurschap. Ook hebben we contact opgenomen met een groep studenten Creative Writing van ArtEZ. Een aantal van deze studenten heeft vervolgens via interviews of prompts bijgedragen aan het project. De bijdragen van zowel de schrijvers als die van de studenten Creative Writing waren zeer waardevol, omdat zij de hedendaagse praktijk van het auteurschap uit eigen ervaring kennen.
En nu is het aan jullie, de bezoekers van Writer’s Corner! Of je nu schrijver of lezer bent, Wintertuin hoort graag jouw ideeën over auteurschap. De Instagrampagina biedt de mogelijkheid tot gesprekken en discussies, dus voel je vrij om mee te doen. We hopen dat met jouw hulp de Instagrampagina zal uitgroeien tot een op zichzelf staand platform waarmee we kunnen bijdragen aan de opvattingen over auteurschap.
