What is the Future of Authorship?

See below for English.

Modern-day authors increasingly work on a project basis, take on more projects outside the context of the literary industry, and operate more at an international level. What does this mean for the position of the author, the valuation of their work and the sustainability of their professional practice?

The symposium Conversations sheds light on these questions with the help of a pilot study into the position of aspiring writers in an international context for the research project What Starting Writers Do and Why (Radboud Institute for Culture and History), and a research project by the Think Tank of Radboud University on the Schrijfwerkplaats: creative writing for people who are learning Dutch. A panel of international experts, publishers, editors, policy makers and authors will discuss these topics with the audience in search of answers and a deeper understanding of the future of authorship.
